Cool My Glass

EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS
EF 24-70mm 2.8L
EF 50mm 1.4
Sigma 10-20mm f/4 (subject to replacement for 17-40 f/4L)

I like having super fast glass; for me, it's what makes the pictures. Not the camera. I'm thinking of upgrading the 10-20 f/4 for a either the 16-35mm f/2.8L or the 17-40 f/4L because I'm going Full Frame 5D mk II in the fall; 10mm on a fullframe = baaad news. The reason why I was thinking of the the 17-40 instead of the 16-35 is because I already have B+W 77mm filters and I don't really want to buy 83mm's for the 16mm.

Anybody got thoughts?

You really don't need to cover every centimeter of focal length when simply taking one or two steps will do the job.

Nikkor 50mm f1.8 (love it, my daily driver)

Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5-4.5 (don't use it as much as I should)

Tokina 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 fisheye (use it primarily for shooting shows, but it's broken and stuck at 17mm, oh well I got it way cheap and still works and AF fine)

Sigma 18-50, standard lens that every rookie has

Nikkor 55-200. Selling and trading up for a 35mm f1.8

Was thinking about a fisheye, but then thought about how much I would use that, compared to the 35mm, and the prices...so, I'm going with the 35mm. Probably putting up my 55-200 for sale this week.

What i have at the moment:

Nikon 50mm f1.4G: sharp as hell above f2.8, but loads of distortion for a standard lens.

Nikon 16mm fisheye: awesome lens, but barely ever gets used by me. doesn't really fit my style whatsoever.

Nikon 28mm f2.8D: bought as a cheap wideangle just to get by. it's doing that well i suppose

What i want:

50mm f1.2 Ais: super sharp, no distortion, looks amazing wide open. either this or sigma 50mm f1.4

85mm f1.4G: same as above really

a decent prime 20-24mm

70-200 f2.8D: awesome lens, loved it every time i've used it.

Some serious lenses being discussed on this, cool thread.

Currently own:
canon 70 - 200 mm f2.8
canon 50 mm f1.8
tokina 11 - 16 mm f2.8

Mainly use the tokina at the moment, its the newest of myshit.

wanting a canon 24 - 70 f2.8L as i have nothing from 16mm until 50mm except the standard kit lens. Would really like some carl ziess lenses for video literally for the fact every lens produces the same colour therefore less editing.

As I'm new heres a couple of samples. Excuse the watermark.
