Nikons have one too. At least D300 and above. I never found it very helpful though.

didn't think this was worth a new thread so quick question here (and possibly a stupid one) but you know that little light in your viewfinder that goes on to tell you that your subject is in focus? mine works fine while i'm autofocusing, but when i use manual focus like i have to with my 50mm it sometimes just blinks on and off at a steady pace regardless of weather or not it's focused. it's really annoying because i have to take test shots just to see if it's right or not. anyways what is this, and how can i make it stop.

something has to be malfunctioning because if its at a steady pace thats not right.
when i focus in mf, it still lights up with when i press the star button(not sure what its really called) but not at a steady pace.

Meh, if you look through completed ebay listings a lot of D200s have went for under $500, some with a lens or grip. Doesn't sound that shady to me, unless it comes with 5 decent lenses and a grip.

Yeah, I really want one instead of my D3000 and just give it to my dad and get a D200 for my birthday.

alright so i like my d60 and everything, and it's not like i'm "growing out" of it or anything just yet. but i am a little tired of the lack of an af motor in my body, so lately i've been thinking about picking up a used body on the cheap (probably this - http://www.adorama.com/US%20%20%20%20374899.html) and just using it as a temporary body that i can use to af with my 50mm prime so i don't get screwed in low light situations trying to get away with my 18-55 or 70-300. then i would probably sell it again before too long once i can afford a more modern camera.

sound ok? normally i would go for lenses before a body, but all the lenses i like (tokina 16-50, nikon 80-200, prime lenses...ect) all require a motor in the body in order to af so that brings me back to the same problem. basically once i have the used body, i'd then save up for some better/faster lenses and once i have them i'll start saving for a newer body.

Sell your d60, 18-55 and 70-300. Buy a new body, either a d200 or a d80. Then shoot that with your 50mm until you have enough money for legit lenses.

makes sense, i would use the 50 99% of the time anyways if i could af with it. reason i was thinking d70 is cause i can afford that right now without waiting for stuff to sell, and i would replace it when the d90x or whatever they call the next version of it comes out because i'm assuming that thing will be wild. then i could sell of the d70 for at least the same price i bought it for. and if i got the d70 i'd be able to afford the new lenses a lot faster.

i'll take a look though for d200's and stuff like that though, cause that would be a really legit camera. gotta make adds for my old stuff as well.
