Default RYAN SHER Q&A.

Ryan has agreed to do a Q&A on the site. Ryan rules, he's always killed it and now manages to kill it while owning Subrosa. Enjoy.

If you had to do one of these, which would you pick:

Barspin a 15 stair

or

Backflip no hander a box jump

Base your answer on what you think you could do the easiest and how fucked up you would get while learning said tricks.

what made you want to start your own company? was it dissatisfaction with other companies or just a drive to create your own thing?

you were the first nigga i ever seen do crankflips. you were riding a powerlite race frame , and you did a crankflip disaster at impact skatepark.do you feel like mike ardelean owes you crankflip credits on his nowhere fast part?

remember when dave young used to sell all teh shit duffs and metal gave him out of his car? i copped 2 metal t-shirts and a pair of duffs for 30$.but, then again, dave young never brushed his teeth.

i distinctly remember playing dave mirra maximum remix on ps2 with you.do you think mike laird is the best?does his goatee act as some sort of windsock, thus enabling him to float?

I don't think he knows that the thread is up yet, he hasn't replied to my E-mail yet. Plus it's only been like, less than 12 hours? Every dude who has a thread on here isn't going to respond at the same pace that Keith or Rooftop have.

I guess I'd pick the flip-no hander over the box, basically I would watch Voelker and Parenti do these on a regular basis at the old Mission Valley park in San Diego. I think learning it, I'd be able to jump off and hopefully slide down the landing, a barspin down the 15 would be that difficult, it would just be comitting to it that would be hard for me. You could definitely get more wrecked on the stairs.

It was definitley the drive to create my our own thing. Being in BMX for so long, I've just had a ton of ideas on running a company from in front, and behind the scenes. I just got lucky that Ronnie B. was the person who saw that, and was willing to help out.

I definitely remember all that. Only thing was that I was riding an aluminum Mosh not a Powerlite, shit was badass! If it came down to"owning" the kickflip, I would have to give it to Luc-E or Butcher, I think one of them invented it, I just think it's really fun to do. I bought Laird's goatee on Ebay.

I only have 1 pair of Jordans, Jordand 4's. I always wanted those when I was a little kids, I always thought they were the coolest shoes ever! Shit, the last time I saw Tibbs ride in person was probably, fuck thats sad, I don't really remember. Sometime around the last Ghetto comp at FBM. He defintley shredded the place, and was probably drunk. I think he's currently gettin hooked up with frames now.

1) You probably have more shoes than me, I maybe have 4 pairs, 2 of them are the new Loteks. Sooo good.

2)With the theme for Subrosa, I've just always liked B&W, I think it's made our line look real classic. When you see all the ikes together, there is nothing distracting you from all the details we worked hard to put on them.

3) Ronnie B., Evan (from Shadow), and I do all the graphics, we all work together.

4)I just go home last night, from 3 weeks in Florida. We worked on everthing from the completes, to the frames, and graphics. Sorry, but youll have to wait and see like everyone else. Big moves though.

I guess I feel fine, because I still got to go. I think if he would've won, he would've went. I didn't have anything to do with who got picked.

It means "under the rose." Back in the day, waaay back in the day, if you had a meeting of gathering of people and there was a rose hanging form the ceiling, it meant that you could speak of nothing that was talked about at the meeting. Ron and I had talked about a few other project before a bike co, and Subrosa was always going to be the name.
